A big part of why I love minimalism is because it reduces our environmental impact.
By being minimalists and choosing to buy less stuff, we’re helping to prevent the creation of unnecessary products in the first place, plus more waste is avoided later.
When our homes are uncluttered and tidy, it’s easier to look after everything. Minimalist spaces also make it simpler find everything and know what we’ve got, so we don’t buy duplicates unnecessarily.
By donating things we don’t want or need, we get these items back into circulation for others to use. That means the other people who get to use our preloved stuff are also creating less waste.
It’s such a serendipitous connection
By focusing on the aspects of our lives that we value most and keeping the items that represent and support what we need and love… at the same time, this leads to letting go of what does not support us, and the reduced desire to acquire things that are not worthy of our priorities.
All in all, that results in a happier life for us and a happier environment for all life forms. It’s like we’re saying Happy Earth Day every day of the year! It feels good. Keep up the great work!
